An important town on North Coast Railway line 217 miles from Brisbane. A rich agricultural dairying and sugar-growing district. The town is situated on both banks of the Burnett River which is spanned by two bridges. Steamers of considerable size can navigate the river up to the town wharves. Sand Hills distant 7 miles Burnett Heads distant 8 miles and Barolin Coast distant 14 miles are well worth visiting. The drive to either place is delightful. Good fishing in the Burnett River.
