The commercial capital of Central Queensland: 396 miles from Brisbane on the North Coast Railway. The city is situated on the Fitzroy River which is navigable up to the city wharves. The city has a plentiful water supply and is lighted at night by gas and electricity. There are many beauty spots in the district. Good shooting fishing. Alligators abound in the rivers and creeks.
